Giclée & fine-art printing
Giclée is an inkjet printing process used to reproduce artwork and photographs. Kalaarupa uses an Epson SureColor P9350, a 44-inch, 12-colour professional printer. The source image, selected media and print settings all contribute to the finished result.
Printing for artists and photographers
Prepare a portfolio, a print for an exhibition or a photograph for your home. Tell us the intended use, quantity and final size so we can discuss an appropriate surface. If you are reproducing a painting, start with a well-lit, sharply focused photograph or scan.
Fine-art paper printing
Paper changes how a print looks and feels. Review the current paper choices in the upload tool, or ask to discuss texture, surface and the presentation you want. Confirm the exact paper and any specific material requirements before placing an order.
Canvas printing
Canvas adds a visible woven texture to an image. It can suit painted artwork and photographs, but fine text and very small details may read differently than on paper. Discuss the intended finish and framing before deciding on your image crop.
High-resolution photographic printing
Use the highest-resolution version you have, rather than a screenshot or a compressed messaging-app copy. Photographs with clean focus and retained detail give more flexibility when choosing the finished dimensions.
Colour and detail reproduction
A backlit screen and a print reflect colour differently. Keep any embedded colour profile and ask about file review or a sample before committing to a colour-critical project. Do not convert colour spaces or apply extra sharpening solely for printing without discussing the workflow.
Available print sizes
The upload tool shows sizes supported by your image proportions and the selected material. Custom sizes are checked against the current print limits. The printer’s 44-inch width describes the equipment; it is not a promise that every medium or finishing option is available at that width. Ask for a quote for work outside the online options.
Prepare and upload your file
Use the original digital source file you are authorised to print. Check focus, crop and visible text before uploading through My Prints. Keep a copy with its colour profile, and tell us about borders or critical details near the edge. Contact us about files that the uploader cannot accept.
Optional custom framing
Plan the print and frame together if you want a finished piece. The image size, paper border, mount and frame opening affect the final dimensions. Ask about suitable mouldings and mount options for the selected print.

Frequently asked questions
Is a fine-art print an original painting?
No. A fine-art print is a reproduction made from a digital file. Original paintings are listed separately in the original-paintings collection.
Can you print a small photograph at a large size?
It depends on the source pixels, sharpness and intended viewing distance. Upload the file to see the supported sizes; enlarging a file does not recreate missing detail.
Can you guarantee that a print matches my screen?
A screen and a printed surface behave differently. For colour-critical work, discuss the media, file profile and a sample before the final order.
How long will my print last?
Longevity depends on the specific ink and media combination, display conditions and care. Ask for the specifications of the selected materials; no universal lifespan is promised.
